Description of the institution

The library is named after the outstanding Ukrainian writer Mykhailo Mykhailovych Kotsiubynskyi. The library funds are universal, numbering more than 130 000 copies. The first floor is occupied by the children's library named after O. Dovzhenka together with the artist's museum. The second is actually the library of M. Kotsyubynskyi.

According to the results of the work, the Library In 2020 became the winner of the regional rating competition "Best Library of the Year - 2020". The "Open University" for people of the third generation has been operating on the basis of the library since 2014. The listeners completed training courses at the faculties: information and communication technologies, philology (studying English at the elementary level), law.

Destruction

On February 27, 2022, during the aerial bombardment of Chernihiv by the troops of the russian federation, the building of the central city library named after M. M. Kotsyubynskyi was damaged. As a result, the library's roof and walls were damaged, windows were missing, internal partitions and doors were knocked out. The heating system was destroyed. Partially lost funds.
